The Big Day Checklist

The best way to meet the d-day is to be prepared. Remember, its a beautiful and life-changing experience. You should enjoy the moment. So here is a list that should help you to get prepared.

Weaning Food

When my son was 4 months old, my pediatrician advised me that I wait till he turns 6 months to start weaning. I was so eager to start him on semi-solids/solids. However pl remember, babies need good amount of milk till they complete 6 months. Here are a collection of home made baby recipes.

GrandMa Remedies for Infant Problems

These are age-old remedies that our grandmas and moms believed in. I have always been in a dilemma if we should/should not follow. I should mention that when I gave birth to my daughter, both my grandma and dh's grandma were around to give plenty of advices and not to mention, all the pressure I received to follow the age-old procedures.

I am writing some remedies here that I followed and I believe that worked for my daughter [atleast didnt harm her ;-)].

New Baby - Shopping List

Whats a bassinet? Whats a crib? Do we need a diaper pail? Humidifier, Play yards, swaddle etc etc....Terms that we have never heard of, concepts we are alien to and products that we may need to make our lifes easier.

I have compiled a comprehensive list of items that I think is necessary and also taken care to highlight nice to have items.

Ofcourse, the easiest access to a list is by registering with babiesRus or any other baby store. However I am writing this from desi point of view and infact am using one such list as my starting point

Dressing-Baby-For-Winter

Dressing Baby For Winter

How do we protect winter baby? Whats the best type of clothing? Should I bundle him up or just put him in layered clothing? If its layered clothing, how many layers? Well, I know for a new mom, the questions never cease to stop bothering her [have been there!].

Before I try answering the questions above, let me put it under two headings

  • How do I prepare my newborn for his first journey from the hospital to home?
  • How do I protect my baby at home?
